Townshend Hockey’s Student Advisor Service

For a few decades now, I've been approached by 100's of families to help guide their children through the myriad of options available to those who wish to pursue hockey opportunities at the collegiate level and beyond.

Over the past few years, there has been an influx of family advisers entering the youth hockey realm, and they offer a variety of services.

I've been studying many of these advisory services, and I've found quite a few gaps in their service offerings that I feel we can do a much better job of filling.

I just got off the phone recently with a coach at the junior level to help one of our students decide on which team to play for. The family was uncomfortable asking specific questions, which I have no problem asking. I think that we found a very good spot for this young hockey player with College hockey aspirations.

Many of these advisory companies carry too many clients and are therefore unable to give the personal attention that their clients deserve.

Our in-season training program has been very successful, and we've experienced incredible results.

We are going to extend the in-season services offered to our students beyond what is currently available, and below is a list of the services we will offer.

7 Features

    • Bi-monthly game film analysis in season (by Graeme and Kurt Townshend)

    • Bi-monthly hockey IQ Zoom sessions in season (by D 1 and current pro coaches)

    • Two (2) in-person visits from Graeme - This gives your child an unbiased and honest assessment of actual performance from a seasoned professional coach/scout.
(1 visit for over 10hr drive from my home in Maine)

    • Three (3) in-season progress evaluations by Townshend Hockey staff

    • Call in season coaches for progress feedback

    • Personally contact prospective teams for following season (We will get feedback on the coachs' view on where your child places on his/her depth chart)

    • Placements (Assistance with youth teams, junior teams and college placements)

FAMILY ADVISOR PROGRAM

All of the above plus 2 weeks at Townshend Hockey's Summer Development Camp at the University of Southern Maine, located in Gorham, Maine.
This will allow us to systematically address any skill or hockey IQ issues detected from our in-season analysis, coaches' feedback, and in-person visits.
This is how we developed our players in the NHL, and now it's available for your child to benefit.
